A Black Metal outfit crawling from within late stage capitalism.
Ættestupa seeks to put out a message of deep reflection to humanity.
We seek to burn the heart of the machine we are nothing more than a means to an end to.
There lies a burden on each and every one of us, to clean the slate, mend our sacred oath to nature, the respect it demands and the devotion we’ve long forsaken.
Originally formed by Soroush Velayati (composer-guitars) and Farivar Sabzavi (guitars), the first ideas of the album and core concepts were formed, after searching for a fitting addition a like-minded individual joined the band, Ali Roohbakhsh (vocals) understood the band’s core concepts and fit right in. The trio then proceeded to recrod their debut album in their studio. Årsring released world wide independently in the following year.
Mainly inspired by Norwegian Black Metal and Nordic folk music, we use other inspirations, from Medieval and Baroque music to Melodic Death Metal, anything necessary to share the stories that we want to tell.
